Ed Daniel Born June 13,1990, in Birmingham, Alabama. Ed enjoyed playing his college career at Murray State where he was known for his hustle style of play.
Before MSU: Finished his career at Woodlawn High School scoring 15.8 points per game with 11 rebounds and blocked 3.5 shots per game. Was named to the regional finals all-tournament team. His team made it to the Alabama quarterfinals before ending the season 24-8. He won the class 5A slam-dunk contest at the state tournament. Had a 21 point-13 rebound game against Lanier. Was named to the Birmingham News class of 2009 super seniors, ranked seventh on the list of the top-12 players in the metro area … Averaged 14 points, 15 rebounds, and two blocks per game as a junior where he was First Team All-Birmingham and Alabama 5A All-State Honorable Mention.
During Ed’s final year at Murray State, he was a ferocious rebounder ranking much of the time in the top-10 nationally at 10.3 rebounds per game. His 15 double-doubles his senior season was also among the best in the nation. Part of three-straight OVC regular season championship teams, Daniel had his best season in a Racer uniform his senior season, nearly doubling his scoring and rebounding totals. The forward went from averages of 6.8 points and 5.5 rebounds/game to 13.5 points and 10.3 rebounds/game. Daniel had 20 points and a season-high 18 rebounds in a road victory over Lipscomb in November and 15 points and 11 rebounds in a win over St. John’s at the Charleston Classic. Daniel ranked fourth in the OVC in field goal percentage (55.7%) during the year. He also made the all OVC first team his senior year.
